Receiving Kit Kittredge

The long awaited day had come.  For about three weeks my daughter had been waiting for Kit Kittredge to arrive at her Grandma's house - refreshed from her stay at the American Girl Doll hospital!  Kit had been found by my aunt at a garage sale for a bargain price, although she was in fairly good shape!  My mom saved her at her house for my daughter until I felt she was ready to own an AG doll.

My mother met us at church after the kids' AWANA club meeting.  Here they are in the parking lot with Kit in her hospital gown (so cute!).









 Kit came home and my daughter enjoyed playing with her and the new clothes my mom gave her too.  I felt bad that Kit only had summer clothes though, so I made her a cape and hat to keep her warm.



I look forward to making more things for Kit and my daughter to enjoy together!

 How I Made  Mini Addy Walker's Bed and Bedding  ******************************************************************************** Thanks for reading my blog!  In this post I will explain for I made a bed for a mini Addy Walker doll.  First,  Here is a video of the project too!  Learning our History Queenie received the next doll in the historical lineup!   I was excited to learn about Addy's story.  I was so glad for this way to gently introduce the topic of slavery to my sensitive children. DIY: Mini Josefina Montoya's Bed

Hola y Bienvenidos a Our Mini AG Project!   In this post I will share some tips and tricks for making a Mini doll bed for Josefina Montoya! Begin by watching this video review in which I explain my process for making the bed.    1.   I began by sketching out my designs for the legs, headboard and footboard.   You can draw out your own, or you can download and print mine!   The above photos show how I sketched the patterns for the legs, headboard, and footboard of Josefina's bed.  Whenever I am making patterns, my clear sewing ruler comes in very handy!  To make sure the footboard and headboard were perfectly symmetrical, I drew one side, then cut it out, flipped it over, and traced the mirror image for the other side.  Click on this template and print it on 8.5x11 paper or cardstock.  (Make sure when you print, you check that the "1 inch" on the page is also 1 inch on your printout.
